CID arrests Jayasuriya Mudiyanselage Wimalaratne (46) from Boralesgamuwa for his alleged involvement in the arson attack on the private residence of then-Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe on July 9, 2022.
The suspect is charged with being a member of an ‘Aragalaya’ activists’ illegal assembly, trespassing, and stealing valuable assets, facing charges under multiple sections of the Penal Code.
Wimalaratne, previously known for teaching English to students, is set to appear before the Fort Magistrate’s Court.
