A prediction by Thigambaram suggests that Anura Kumara Dissanayaka (AKD) could potentially become the opposition leader.

Thigambaram, co-leader of the Tamil Progressive Alliance, shared this insight during an interview with Sooriyan FM journalist Yadhusha Ravi Thiyagarajah

Thigambaram mentioned AKD’s recent high-profile meeting with India, expressing satisfaction but acknowledging the JVP’s evolving stance on India.

Thigambaram commented on AKD’s electoral prospects, stating that although AKD garnered only 3% of votes in the last election, he could emerge as the opposition leader, foreseeing Sajith Premadasa as the ultimate victor.

Thigambaram expressed a desire for collaboration between President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Opposition leader Sajith, noting the unsuccessful attempt by TPA leader Manoganesan to unite them.
