CBSL Reduces Key Interest Rates by 50 Basis Points

Bank Lending Rates in Sri Lanka Fall Below 15% for the First Time in 17 Months

The Monetary Policy Board of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka has announced a significant decision to lower the Standing Deposit Facility Rate (SDFR) and the Standing Lending Facility Rate (SLFR) by 50 basis points (bps) each.

The new rates are set at 8.50 percent for SDFR and 9.50 percent for SLFR, aiming to stimulate economic activity and address ongoing challenges.
